Harvard study shows climate benefits from expanding solar energy in the USA

By | July 30, 2025

A new study from the Harvard T.H. Chan School of Public Health, published on July 30, 2025, in Science Advances, shows that increasing solar power generation in the US by 15% could reduce CO2 emissions by 8,54 million tons annually. The research demonstrates how targeted investments in solar energy can deliver significant climate benefits, with the effects varying by region… Read more »

CIGS-Pero tandem solar cells: Research team sets new world record

By | February 5, 2025

By combining two semiconductor thin films into a tandem solar cell, high efficiencies can be achieved with a minimal ecological footprint. Teams from the Helmholtz-Zentrum Berlin (HZB) and Humboldt University of Berlin have now presented a tandem cell made of CIGS and perovskite that holds a new world record with an efficiency of 24,6%. This value was determined by the Fraunhofer Institute for Solar Energy Systems ISE… Read more »
